Model Amanda shares her 7 fashion tips & tricks

Our ‘strong woman’ Amanda Westenberg has been modelling for eleven years, travels worldwide and has picked up quite some knowledge - about fashion, creating your own style and tricks to perfect your look. Learn what she knows through our 7 short questions. Quickly read on!

1. Can you describe your signature style?
I always mix it up with the different styles I have in my closet. But lately I’ve been very fond of the business look; a nicely cut suit with heels or - for a more casual look - with sneakers.
2. What are your 3 wardrobe must-haves?
A leather jacket is a true must-have – for both women and men! A black pair of high-waist skinny jeans takes in a solid second place, and of course timeless black pumps.
3. Do you have styling tricks that you apply regularly?
The most important tip I can share is to dress according to the body you have and not the body you desire. I never wear low-waist pants for instance, because they make me look shorter - but on some women, I think low-waist pants look really great! Don’t be afraid to play with different combinations, is another tip! It’s a great way to get the maximum out of your wardrobe. And finally, look around you - inspiration is literally everywhere! From series and movies to online inspiration and even just right outside your door.

4. What is your top 3 of absolute don’ts?
I can be very short about that: Crocs, white leggings and panty socks.

5. Do you have a wardrobe favorite that never bores you?
My mom jeans are an absolute favorite!
6. Which look suits our ‘strong woman’ theme according to you?
A suit immediately comes to mind, consisting of a blazer and great tailored pants – whether they’re bootcut, tapered or whatever suits your body best. I would alternate between a stylish blouse, a turtleneck sweater or a lace top underneath to create different looks. To finish off your attire, I would choose pumps, a timeless leather bag and nails and lips in the same color.
7. What’s your ultimate fashion tip that every woman should know?
Create your own perfect collection of basic lingerie in the nude and black! Think strapless bras, adhesive bras, nipple patches, seamless underwear, etc. – I have them all. They can literally make or break your look; because you wouldn’t want to wear a perfect outfit with your underwear showing underneath, would you?
