How knowing our brands makes creating looks easier

Every woman has them: favorite brands! And it’s super easy to match items from the same brand together, because similar design elements create a harmonious look! Dare to step out of your comfort zone and start mixing it up – match brands you normally wouldn’t pair-up. By using 3 different looks, we’re sharing our tips and providing you with handy lists to help you in the which-brand-for-which-style department. From now on, you’ll know how to apply the opposites-attract principle to your wardrobe.

1. Edgy street style versus clean minimalism

The cool street style elements of the Rag & Bone tunic blouse have all the room they need to shine, thanks to the modest design of the JapanTKY pants.

WHAT DOES AN EDGY-STREETSTYLE MEAN? Characterized by striking detailing with a raw, rugged and nonchalant feel. Think elements borrowed from different subcultures - like leather, studs, distressed details, oversized fits and eye-catching prints from the punk, skate, rock and hip-hop scene. But also high-fashion elements that add a bit of drama to your look.
EDGY STREETSTYLE ITEMS
WHAT IS A MINIMALISTIC DRESS STYLE? Minimalism stands directly opposite of edgy, because it all revolves around the omittance of decorative detailing – details that are added have a function. Clear and clean silhouettes and a basic look, but often made from high-end fabrics that emphasize the timeless character.

2. ‘Everyday’ comfort versus luxe bohemian

Casual and relaxed for at home or femininely dressed to go out? Why not combine both in one look! Despite the differences in style, this oversized sweater and ruffle dress really complement each other – together, they create an organic and flowy silhouette that looks soft and feminine.

WHAT DOES AN EVERYDAY COMFORT STYLE MEAN? The name only, will sketch quite a clear picture in every woman’s mind. Think comfortable (oversized) fits, lovely soft knits and jerseys with elements taken from sport and leisure.
EVERYDAY COMFORT ITEMS
WHAT DOES A LUXURIOUS BOHEMIAN STYLE MEAN? Super feminine items with plenty of romantic detailing, referring to glamour, folklore and bohemian. Think items from your evening and occasion wardrobe with ruffles, embroidery, floral prints, sequins, bows and frills, made from drapey fabrics like chiffon, silk, voile and organza.

3. Business-class chic versus working-class denim

The blazer represents business, adultness, upper-class while jeans stand for cool, youthful, working-class. Elements from both styles easily match, so don’t be afraid to be creative. Think about combinations like business pants with a denim shirt or a business dress and pumps, topped off with a denim jacket.

WHAT IS BUSINESS-CHIC? This includes everything you would expect in a classic business wardrobe. From different types of blazers, classic pants and trench coats to pencil skirts, decent dresses and shirt-style blouses – complemented with pumps and a classic leather briefcase of course.

BUSINESS-CHIC ITEMS
WHAT IS A WORKING-CLASS DENIM STYLE? This pretty much includes everything made from denim – including contemporary details like raw-edges finishes, distressed elements and playful patches to on-trend jeans silhouettes like boyfriend, flared and skinny in both low- and high-rise designs.
