Color types

Grey is found in both the Summer Type’s and the Winter Type’s palette. Both color types offer a palette containing greys, showing that grey tones effortlessly mix with muted, lighter colors of the summer type as well as the more brighter colors of the winter type. Are you a Spring Type or Fall Type? Then wearing grey is absolutely allowed, but avoid wearing it around the face – and team with a color combination from the relevant palette for a beautiful, flattering look.

1. Grey with bright colors

Grey’s modest character makes it perfect to pair with striking bright colors. Grey emphasizes the brightness of these colors without creating harsh contrast. Do you want to add freshness to a grey-and-bright color combination? Add an item or accessory in the color white.

2. Grey with earth tones

Just like grey, earth tones are considered to be calm and neutral and that’s why they pair so well. Khaki green, army green, taupe, rust colors and nude hues all effortlessly blend with grey. Do you want to add more contrast? Team earth tones with dark greys. Do you want to create softness and femininity? Then team with lighter shades of grey.

4. Grey with pastel shades

Pastels are sweet colors with a soft undertone – like light yellow, baby blue, lilac, mint green and soft pink. Grey’s modesty creates a stage for pastel shades to come to the foreground, whilst simultaneously adding some edge to the sweetness of pastels, for a modern appearance.

5. Grey in black/white combo

Grey is a combination of black and white and easily mixes with both colors. Pair grey and white for a fresh look and combine grey and black for a fashionable feel with a clean character. Mixing all three creates a modern, minimalistic feel - and if you want to add warmth to that mix, then think of different textures like warm fluffy fabrics with wool and cashmere.
