PerfectlyBasics Founders: Birgit van den Beemt & Peter Blaas

Birgit van den Beemt trained at the Charles Montaigne Academy for fashion in Amsterdam and has had years of experience in the fashion industry since. First as assistant buyer at Intres, later she worked at Damo, Latido, Amici, Oger and Amedee. Peter Blaas has been managing director of Digiteurs for many years and is also a web designer, photographer, marketing manager and all-round creative manager for perfectly Basics. They are a couple, not only in their private lives, but more and more in business too. The perfectly basics web boutique is their most recent joint (ad)venture. They have combined Birgit’s fashion background and Peter’s skills as a web designer to produce an excellent product. The set-up of the online shop is highly professional: the clothes are photographed in a studio with models under Birgit and Peter’s own management. They are also both responsible for purchasing the collection and thinking up marketing strategies.
