Queen’s day wouldn’t exist without our royal family. One that really stands out fashion-wise is our pride and joy Princess Maxima. Stylish, graceful, always friendly and amazingly dressed completing her looks with wonderful accessories. The princess particularly loves eye catching jewellery. She was recently spotted wearing orange colored earrings from one of our favourite designers: Ellen Beekmans. Once again in orange, complete with a coral rose and yes we have to say it: she looks amazing wearing them. Ellen had sent three pairs of earrings as presents for the princess’s birthday. The pair below has been worn in public several times already.

For the foreigners among us: Queen’s Day has been a national holiday in the Netherlands since 1949. It is celebrated on April 30th (previously this was August 31st, the birth date of Queen Wilhelmina). The day is celebrated in a variety of activities (which begin the night before during ‘Queen’s Night’), aside from that there are flea markets on every corner of the street. Everybody cleans out their attic, put their old stuff on a blanket and makes a sport out of selling it all. What is the most important thing for Dutch people during Queen’s Day? Being together, ‘gezelligheid’, good food and drinks, having fun and listening to good music!
